Raw mango rice or Maangai sadam is my fav. I love all tangy rice varieties like puliyodharai,lemon rice etc. I love this rice with little sweet taste. Raw mango rice/ Mangai Sadam- Steamed rice stir fried with grated raw mango, fried peanuts,fresh herbs and spices.

Instructions to make Raw mango rice:
  1. First take a non stick pan add oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds curry peanuts,chana dal.mix well cook few minutes.
  2. Now add grated mango mix well.
  3. Now add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt sugar,grated cocount mix it well.
  4. Lower flam cook 2 minute
  5. Now add in 2 cup cooked rice and salt to taste..mix gently without breaking rice grains…cover and simmer for 5 minutes or till rice….finally, ready mango rice..

Raw mango rice or Mamidikaya Pulihora is a delicacy from South India. Mango rice recipe - A simple South Indian style mango rice made with raw sour mango. This recipe is almost similar to the lemon rice or the coconut rice which most of us make at home. This Raw Mango Rice is prepared almost same as lemon rice. But here tanginess is coming from Mangoes.
